1) DON’T OVER-PACK

2) BRING ENOUGH SNACKS AND WATER

With extra space you will save only the necessities, bring enough water and food to last your entire trip. Consider carrying a full bucket of water in your hiking bag and an extra water bottle for a long trip. You can bring in an emergency water filter.

3) PACK A SMALL FIRST-AID KIT

9) INVEST IN STURDY HIKING SHOES

Ordinary tennis shoes, sneakers, or old flip flops will not cut you when you are hiking. In the summer, you can think of hiking boots, waterproof sandals. Simple walking tennis shoes are always ready for summer, spring, or fall. Long hiking boots with lots of fit are ideal for cold, winter days.

10) TELL SOMEONE WHERE YOU’RE GOING
