How to Stay Cool in the Summer? This is a question that many people ask so that they can get themselves saved from the atrocities of a hot summer season.
One of the most horrendous things about summer is the brutal heat and the humid atmosphere. During summer most people prefer to stay indoors and dismiss all their activities just because of the heavy heat.
It doesn’t seem very appealing to let some heat spoil the fun. There are a lot of cool activities that are worth enjoying in the summer season. Get breathable footwear that is comfortable and made from light cotton material. Most summer shoes are well ventilated keeping the feet cool and do not allow sweat to get developed as you walk. It is advised not to wear woolen or cashmere socks in summer as they may store heat instead use light cotton socks if you cannot resist wearing socks.
If you have long hair keep them tied up as open hair will make you feel uncomfortable and sweaty.
2. Drink a lot of Water
Water is a major component of the human body, 60% of an adult human body is water which is why lack of hydration may lead to several issues like headaches, less sweat, and less exertion of urine. In summer our average intake of water should be greater than that of winter as in summer due to excessive heat we tend to sweat a lot. Drinking a moderate amount of water is the key prospect of getting your body at its required temperature.
It is recommended to drink at least 6 to 8 glasses of water in a hot summer routine. We will also stress on carrying a water bottle and using a dedicated mobile application that will notify you when it’s time to drink water. It will also help you in keeping track of your daily hydration activities and will recommend how can you improve in certain aspects.
Caffeine-rich drinks and sugar-based soft drinks will make you feel dehydrated so if you are taking tea, coffee, or soda and thinking that you will be hydrated is a myth. Try to drink fewer flavored drinks and focus on drinking water.

3. Take a Cold Shower Daily, Wash Your Face Hand and Feet

Taking a cold-water bath daily will not only keep you refreshed, but it will also moderate the temperature of the body. Personally, taking a bath daily enhances my productivity, it makes me feel more focused and think creatively while working in the office.
I have a great refreshing experience as I use peppermint soap while taking a bath. It sends some great cooling sensations that cannot be explained in written words. However, we can say that the menthol in peppermint boosts the brain receptors, and these receptors tell you whether something had a cool or hot sensation.
It is also recommended to wash your face, hands, and feet 5 to 6 times on a hot summer day. We will also encourage you to get a spray bottle full of water so that you can spray some water on the face, head, or hands and feet when you feel heat burn and humidity if you are working on an outdoor project or just doing some outdoor activities. You can also use cold wash rags on your neck, arm, and thigh, it is a great way to get your body temperature at a moderate level.
4. Keep your House Cool and Ventilated
Most people just had to spend most of their time indoors when the sun is unleashing its devastating heat on the earth. It is very important to keep your house cool and ventilated in the hot summer season. There are little things that you can do to keep the indoor environment cool and comfy when the sun is shining bright.
Light Bulbs are a source of energy and it transmits heat when they are open. It is a great practice to replace the old filament light bulbs with energy-efficient LED lights. It will not only save a lot of electricity, but it also does not emit that much heat when compared to a filament bulb. You can also dim the light of the house or just switch off unwanted lights. This practice will also put a significant effect on the temperature of the room or the house.
Close windows as soon as the sun comes up by doing so the hot air will not penetrate the house. It is also good to use blackout curtains to block the sunlight coming into the room. This will prevent sunshine from heating your house.

Before going to bed do not eat a heavy meal as digestion-related chemical reactions may increase the body temperature, and most of all full stomach will make you uncomfortable at the time of sleeping.
Turn off all the appliances in the room that generate heat as they may affect the room temperature. The most important thing that is a must for a good night’s sleep on a hot, humid summer night is to make your bed cool, comfy, and ventilated.
You can use breathable cotton bed sheets and blankets for your bed. For an ideal cooling experience, you can also use cooling mattress pads and active cooling systems for beds. These bed cooling systems are very effective, and you can also control the bed’s thermostat as per your wish.
