What do you need to monetize your Instagram account?
Is strength in numbers enough?
The more followers you have, the better. But that’s not enough.
It helps if you have quality content and an engaged audience too. An engaged audience regularly comments on your content, shares your posts, and tags friends.
Want to find out how you can increase engagement?
There are several ways to do this. They include:
- Identify your audience and the kind of content they like
- Engage with content from other accounts in your niche
- Use strategically selected hashtags in your niche
- Use better captions
- Engage your followers
Once you have a large enough reach and an engaged following, how do you monetize your account?
1. Use Sponsored Posts
With sponsored posts, brands pay you to promote their products on your channel.
As an influencer, your audience considers you a trendsetter and trusted expert. You can then partner with brands to help them get the word out about their products using Instagram ads, videos, posts, or Stories.
Deals like this can involve an entire campaign or single post in exchange for a free product, the promise of exposure, a gift, a fee, or a combination of these.
2. Sell Your Merchandise
Do you have products or services you would like to sell? Or maybe you have unique talents you can monetize?
Instagram offers you an excellent avenue to sell physical goods, digital items, or services.
For example, you can sell branded merchandise, art, paintings, photography, consulting services, ebooks, etc.
3. Offer Niche Skills
Are you an expert on a specific topic?
Use Instagram to direct customers to your courses.
You can create challenges, marathons, videos, and giveaways to get and keep your audience interested.
4. Sell Affiliate Products
With affiliate marketing, you get paid a percentage or amount for each visitor who buys a brand’s product through you. You can use affiliate marketing spy tools to create a successful affiliate campaign.
You sell affiliate products through promo codes or special links assigned to you. However, promo codes are better on Instagram since you can incorporate them into posts.
Whenever your audience buys a product or service using either of these two methods, you get a certain percentage of the total sale.
Do not, however, limit yourself to the methods mentioned above. Instead, check out the infographic below for more strategies to help you monetize your Instagram account.
