About University of Allahabad
Allahabad University is a central university located in the city of Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh. The university was inaugurated in September 1887. It is the oldest university in Uttar Pradesh and one of the oldest universities in India. Earlier, this university used to be referred to as “Oxford of the East”.
Initially, the University of Allahabad used to function under the University of Calcutta. Later, in 1887 this institution attained university status and became the 5th university established in India before Independence. In 1992, the state government of Uttar Pradesh recognized this university as a premier institution, and in 2003, this university attained central university status.
The five significant facilities of this university are Science, Arts, Commerce, Law, and Management. University has been accredited with a B++ grade by National Assessment and Accreditation Council.

University of Allahabad Admissions
Allahabad University admission is based on merit in the entrance tests and qualifying exams. The entrance test differs for different courses. The list of entrance tests accepted is given below.

Along with the entrance test scores, the candidate must also have a qualifying degree. For UG admissions, the candidate must have passed in 10+2 with the required aggregate. Similarly, for PG, the candidate must have a UG degree in a relevant stream with mentioned aggregate. For PhD admission, if the candidate has qualified in UGC-NET or JRF, or SLET needs not to appear in CRET.
The admission process for Allahabad University is entirely online. Candidates applying for admissions need to follow the given instructions when applying online. Applicants with a valid entrance exam score are shortlisted based on merit. These shortlisted candidates are later called for counselling. The counselling may involve group activities and personal interviews based on the applied course. The applicants who have cleared the counselling round are offered Allahabad University admission.
